Let's be honest. The console war is real as this is a competitive industry and it exists because there are many passionate gamers who care about the direction of the industry. There should be a weighing system so that all companies get a balanced representation on the website (if possible) so that some gamers feel more trust with N4G. There are actually people out there who think it's a biased website that favors one company over another. In that same approach, there should be a way to filter stories based on - new releases, platforms, news types (financials, regulatory, industry, etc.). Just brainstorming here but I think folks out there will agree!

You can already filter stories by platform or game tag and on top of that by news type (news, videos, previews, interviews, rumors, etc.). I'm not sure it's worth going into the minutiae of specific news types within the news category.

By the way, if you select a platform tag, it will take you to a page just for that platform, you can then select from the drop-down the type of news just for that platform to see.

As far as a weighing system to balance representation, that's just not how news in general works. Sometimes there's going to be more news about one thing over another. We definitely try our best to let repetitive opinion pieces die off when we can, but to deny news just because there's been a lot of news about that same company/game is the antithesis of the purpose of N4G.

Great reply Chris, I really appreciate the details. So you're saying that N4G does it's best to be unbiased?

I've heard from some that they don't feel this is the case and have read it in some of the many comments. Personally, I don't agree and it's not possible to prevent opinions such as those in comments but as you likely know that's the ugliness in some pockets of the industry. Maybe it needs to be made more obvious to folks in an FAQ that N4G has journalistic integrity.
